Third Annual 'Eco Rally' Promotes a Greener Lifestyle

1,000+ take steps to reduce their carbon footprints.

More than 1,000 people took part in the Somerset County Park Commission Environmental Education Center’s third annual “Eco Rally.” The event is part of the continuing effort to educate the public on how to save energy and reduce an individual’s carbon footprint.

Beginning Friday, April 1 and concluding Friday, April 15, participating individuals, families, and work, social, or sports groups maintained a daily log of everyday tasks that reduced the use of energy and promoted a greener lifestyle.

Participants were asked to create a display of posters or pictures representing their contribution to the environment. Projects were exhibited April 21 through May 1 at the Environmental Education Center, 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge.
