Wintry Scenes From Basking Ridge and Nearby
Extreme cold will preserve snow and perhaps ice up roads overnight.
Unlike many "snow days" in Central Jersey, this one didn't warm up enough the next day to melt the white stuff.
The snow stayed powdery into Friday afternoon, and with the National Weather Service predicting that temperatures for the area would lower to about 5 below overnight, it's not going anywhere before Saturday.
