Alex Wilke and Peter Woo Top 'Battle of Band' Winners

Annual competition among local musicians provided entertainment all through the afternoon at this year's Charter Day event.

This year's winners from Charter Day's annual Battle of the Bands competition won prizes as well as a little hometown recognition for their musical performances last Saturday afternoon at a stage behind the

Basking Ridge residents Alex Wilke & Peter Woo won first place, said Jen Gander, director of the township. Gander said the duo won $150, and three hours of studio time provided by SDC Studios.        

Second-place winner was Tomorrow at One, for a prize of $100; and Fish Head, with that band winning $50, Gander said.

the bands each attracted local friends and fans who congregated to cheer on their favorites, or to sit on the grass in a shady spot. A panel of judges also heard the performances.

The bands to perform at this year's Charter Day Battle of the Bands included Brookside; Twist of Rhyme; Fish Head; Ambience; The Instrumentalist; Tomorrow at One and Wilke and Woo wrapping up the day.
