Escape to Bayou For Cajun Music & Food (Right Nearby)

Somerset County Park Commission continues its annual Bayou Fest, following by Cajun band at weekly concert series.

This Sunday is the annual Bayou Fest at Duke Island Park — the time for reveling and partying, Cajun-style.

This week, we are returning the "Great Escape" column to help fill your summer weeks. The column writers each week track down one great idea to give you a much deserved break, and make your life a little easier, and maybe a whole lot enjoyable.

Everyone is invited to the Somerset County Park Commission's 14th annual Bayou Fest at  in Bridgewater on Sunday from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., to be followed by a concert of Cajun music.

The Bayou Fest will feature dance band Zydeco-A-Go-Go with its blend of Cajun two-steps, New Orleans rhythms and Louisiana rock and roll.

The band is from Philadelphia, and arrives with the goal of keeping the party going.
