Masterwork’s annual Summer Sings are an ideal way to connect with like-minded music lovers in the “off” season.  The Summer Sings are held on Wednesday evenings at 7:30 in June and July and August at the New Jersey Youth Symphony facility, 570 Central Avenue, New Providence, NJ. The Sings feature some of the area’s most prominent conductors and rising soloists, offering both singers and listeners the opportunity to revisit beloved choral masterpieces and discover new favorites.

Masterwork's 2010 Summer Sings were featured in the metropolitan section of the Sunday New York Times in July 2010.

June 20         Mozart Requiem, Stravinsky Symphony of Psalms

Conductor:  Andrew Megill - Music Director, Masterwork Chorus; Conductor, Carmel Bach Festival Chorale and The Chorus of the Montreal Symphony Orchestra; Associate Professor, Westminster Choir College

June 27         Brahms German Requiem & Nänie

Conductor:  Thomas Juneau - Artistic Director, Summit Chorale; Director of Choral Activities, Saint Joseph's University, Philadelphia

July 4             No Sing

July 11           Haydn Paukenmesse & Fauré Requiem

Conductor:  James S. Little - Organist/Choirmaster, Calvary Episcopal Church, Summit; Music Director (Retired), Choral Art Society of New Jersey

July 18           Mozart Coronation Mass in C & Vivaldi Gloria

Conductor: Ann Matlack - Artistic Director, Harmonium Choral Society; Organist/Choir Director, Grace Church, Madison

July 25           Beethoven Mass in C & Beethoven Symphony No. 9, “Ode to Joy”

Conductor:  Patrick Gardner - Music Director, Riverside Choral Society; Director of Choral Activities, Mason Gross School of the Arts, Rutgers University

August 1       Ralph Vaughan Williams A Sea Symphony

Conductor: Eric Dale Knapp - Artistic Director, New Jersey Choral Society and Connecticut Choral Society

Cost $13 per evening includes score rental, professional soloists, accompanist and refreshments.  $6.50 for students and listeners.  Booklets of 5 tickets available for $55 (tickets may be shared)
