EVENTS: Guitar Concert, Wine Tastings, More

A wide choice of things to do in the upcoming days, no matter what your particular passions.

Along with events around town, those who want to celebrate the Wearing 'o the Green may want to head to this Saturday's St. Patrick's Day parade in Morristown, one of the biggest in the state. And, hey, it's closer than New York.

For continuing previews and coverage of the Morristown parade, check the Morristown Patch.

Meanwhile, there will be a Purim celebration on Thursday night right here at the And a wine tasting Friday night at to benefit the local Bernards Township PBA.

For a good time without calories, Friday and Saturday's "Retail Therapy" at a woman's clothing tag sale to benefit girls' education, is undoubtedly cheaper than medical therapy — and you'll look great afterwards, too (as well as passing on those positive feelings by empowering girls through education.)

Another worthwhile and fun charity event will be a collection of gently used shoes to benefit Souls4Souls at Mastro Shoes, 20 Mine Brook Road in Bernardsville. The collection will take place from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, and radio statio WDHA is scheduled to be there raffling off concert tickets. The Souls4Souls website says that a collection is underway now for those in 11 states whose lives and belongings were impacted by last week's tornados. (Update note: the store had collected about 1,100 pairs of shoes by about 7 p.m. Thursday, but will continue to accept donations. A previous event in December netted 1,200 pairs donated.)
