Farmstead Arts Players to Present Yeats One-act Plays on Monday

Public monthly dramatic reading is free.

The Farmstead Players will conduct a dramatic reading of three one-act plays by Irish poet, playwright and statesman William Butler Yeats at 7 p.m. on Monday, at the Farmstead Arts center, 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge.

Directed by William Ward, "Land of Hearts Desire," "The Countess Cathleen" and "Cathleen Ni Houlihan" will be read by Alan Gershenson, Catie Shelley, David Neal, Ed Schroeder, Elizabeth Buckley, Elizabeth Elkind, Joel Redmount, Juliet Brines, Lisa Black, NJ McBride-Wallace, Pat Busch and Peter Curley. Yeats (1865 – 1939), a driving force behind the Irish Literary Revival and founder of the Abbey Theatre, won the Noble Prize for literature in 1923.  

The Farmstead Players’ public monthly reading series is free, but contributions are gratefully accepted. 

The next scheduled reading, on Monday, Jan. 6, is Shakespeare’s "The Tempest."
