Farmstead Arts to Cast Production of 'The Tempest' on Monday

Performance of Shakespeare's classic to be first full-length production in renovated English barn at Bernards Township arts center.

The Farmstead Players will on Monday cast the thespian group's first full production of Shakespeare's "The Tempest," to be performed in The English Barn Theater in late May-June of 2014.

The casting is scheduled to take place from 7 to 10 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 
6, at the Farmstead Arts Center, 450 King George Rd.  Basking Ridge. At 7 p.m., The Farmstead Players are scheduled to do a reading of the play.
 
Sides will be provided at the audition, The role of Prospero has been cast, but all other roles available, according to information from the director, William Ward.
    
Ward added in a posting of the event that there will be many important roles and jobs to perform for "The Tempest," including live (choral) music, dance, puppetry, magic, stage management, tech, costumes, run crew, front of house, and more. Anyone with questions should email wjpward@verizon.com.

Restoring the barn as a center for public presentations, shows and performances has been a long-term project at the historic township-owned Farmstead Arts property, resulting from volunteer coordination and public grants.
