Former Basking Ridge Residents Reunite to Rock The Stone Pony

Vincent Brue and John Dorocki performed a 45-minute set Saturday.

Indie rockers "Lifeguard Nights" reunited Sunday at The Stone Pony to re-create their 2007 album "The Church of Song."

For fans of the South Jersey-based band, absence certainly made the heart grow fonder.

Frontman Vincent Brue and keyboardist John Dorocki, formerly of Basking Ridge, were joined by the seven other musicians who comprise the group, all sounding tighter than ever.

Brue joked with the audience before songs during the 45-minute set, which included hits such as "Amen" and "Spare Tire."

"It's not easy to get everyone back together but it's well worth it," said Brue, who continues to write and record original songs from his home in Long Branch.
