It's Time for Summer Reading at Bernards Twp. Library

'Dig Into Reading' theme begins with magic show, more events.

"Dig Into Reading!" is the theme this summer at the Bernards Township Library, with children from preschool age through grades 6 invited to register this Saturday for one of three reading levels for the library's summer reading program.

Registration for summer begins at 10 a.m. this Saturday and continues through Saturday, Aug. 3, according to the library. Since some children go away over the summer, participants will be able to pick up their reading "rewards" through Sept. 7, said Maureen Norton, childrens program coordinator at the library.

Each child will receive a reading folder and earn rewards for time spent reading when they register for  “Read-to-Me;” “Independent Readers up to grade four; ” and “Tweens for grades five and six” in the program.

Rose's show is based around the nationwide summer reading theme of "dig into reading" and will feature things found in the ground, Norton said.
