Sarkin was once a practicing chiropractor, but after a brain hemorrhage and a stroke that nearly killed him, the doctor became a prolific artist who creates elaborate drawings and paintings vibrant with words and images. His work has been featured in The New Yorker, The New York Times and ABC Primetime, on This American Life, NPR, and BBC, and in galleries around the world.

Pulitzer Prize-winning author Amy Ellis Nutt (daughter of Mr. David T. Nutt ’40) will also be on hand to autograph her book "Shadows Bright as Glass: The Remarkable Story of One Man’s Journey from Brain Trauma to Artistic Triumph."
