September 7 is the deadline for amateur photographers to enter photographs in the fifth Annual Summer Photo Contest sponsored by N.J. Assemblyman Jon Bramnick’s office (R-District 21), a competition in
The contest includes three categories: New Jersey Shore, State Parks and Wildlife. The contest is open to all ages and entries will be accepted through the September 7th deadline. Contestants should submit their work via email: email@example.com.
Two Basking Ridge residents were among the winners of the fourth annual photography contest of scenes from around the state, and were honored by Bramnick at a reception in his Westfield office last October.
Hilary Klimek, a local photographer whose work has been displayed at the township's center won an honorable mention in the Jersey Shore Category with her photo, Up, Up & Away. In the category for wildlife photography, the staff pick last year was Seagull Reflection, a photo Rebecca Venetianer, who then was a junior.
“The contest goes hand in hand with summer fun, and it is a great way to capture the beauty of our great state,” Assemblyman Bramnick said in announcing the contest earlier this summer. “Each year I look forward to seeing the wide array of colorful summer photographs, and I’m truly impressed by the creativity and talent shown by the contestants.”
With three categories, shutterbugs can look through their summer's photographic moments — or head out with some renewed inspiration to portray — at the boardwalks, beaches, and amusement parks in New Jersey. They can go on the trails at the State Park, historic sites or even their own backyards to photograph their favorite critters.
The photographs will be judged for their quality and creativity. The winners and prizes will be announced in September.
