Yoga for Life Fundraiser Friday Night in Liberty Corner

Yoga session will be held Friday night at Khore Studio.

The Khore Studio in Liberty Corner will host Friday night Yoga for Life, a fundraiser for The American Breast Cancer Foundation. Kim Shand, renowned yoga instructor and founder of Rethink Yoga and Yoga With Kim Online, will lead poses during the session.

The fundraiser is open to the public. A donation of $12 is requested to participate in a yoga session scheduled Friday night from 7 to 8:15 p.m., according to Khore's website.

Shand said she will lead a gentle yoga class focusing on movement, breathing and relaxation for mind and body wellness at the studio, which has a tradition of customizing yoga routines for breast cancer patients and survivors.

All tax-deductible donations will go directly to the American Breast Cancer Foundation, Shand said. Support of the event helps the foundation to continue to provide life-saving screening and diagnostic mammograms, ultrasounds, surgical consults and biopsies to all those who are uninsured and underinsured.

The Yoga For Life Program helps the ABCF provide the services that contribute to the five-year survival rate of 90 percent for patients with early diagnosis and treatment, according to information from Shand.
