Prospective Candidates Invited To Meeting Monday

The Bernards Township Republican Municipal Committee is conducting a screening process for candidates wishing to run for Bernards Township Committee on the Republican ticket. The screening will be held at the Liberty Corner Fire House at 7:00 PM on Monday, March 17, 2014.

"Our Township Committee has a long tradition of conservative governance.  Fiscal responsibility is the hallmark of the solid conservative Republicans who serve the interests of all constituents in our Township.  This year's screening process will once again strive to find two such dedicated public servants.  We cordially invite our neighbors to join us and meet all potential candidates,” said John Bayeux, Chairman of the Bernards Township Republican Municipal Committee.

"This year, we say goodbye to a woman who has served, with distinction, the interests of every member of our community for many years.  Township Committeewoman Mary Pavlini has decided that this will be her last term.  We sincerely thank her for her leadership and her commitment to Bernards Township

Mayor John Carpenter is running for re-election.  Three other Republicans who share our philosophy of fiscal responsibility and conservative governance have already indicated to the RMC that they would like to serve our township. They are Lisa Marshall, Kevin Orr and Thomas Russo.  As this is an open screening, we welcome anyone else who want to continue this legacy and come before the Committee to seek one of the two seats up for election in this year's cycle." Bayeux continued.

Candidates for other offices are also expected to attend the meeting and make a statement.
