Basking Ridge Resident to Speak at Women Business Owners Association

Sally Glick, who has received many honors as well as heading her own firm, to talk about the power of networking.

Basking Ridge resident Sally Glick, principal and chief growth strategist at Sobel & Co. in Livingston, is scheduled to be keynote speaker on the topic of the power of networking at the Northwest New Jersey Association of Women Business Owners' upcoming "Spotlight on Success" event on May 14.
 
As part of her discussion, Glick will be speaking about building brands and relationships at the NJAWBO event, scheduled for 6 to 9:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the Hanover Marriott in Whippany.

At Sobel & Co., LLC, certified public accountants and consultants, Glick is responsible for the development and implementation of the firm’s branding, marketing communications and business development strategies.

Her speech on May 14 is expected to address why business relationships are so powerful; how great relationships are built; and what is unique about her own journey and lessons learned from the network she has built within the state over the last dozen years.

Information on registration for the evening, which also will feature networking opportunities, exhibitor tables and cocktails, appetizers and desserts, is online at the association's website.

Recognized in her field, Glick was named accounting marketer of the year for 2003, and was listed on Accounting Today’s list of Top 100 Most Influential People in Accounting for 2004, 2005 and 2006.

She had the honor of being the first non-CPA woman to appear on the cover of Practical Accountant, and in 2007 was inducted into the Association for Accounting Marketing’s Hall of Fame.

Also this month, the Visiting Nurses of Northern New Jersey are honoring her at their May 2013 Gala as the Community Service Award recipient. Glick said she will recieve the award this Friday evening in recognition for nonprofit focus in New Jersey, not specifically for the VNA, although she added she is close to the Northern NJ VNA organization.

Glick has been named as one of NJBIZ’s “Top 25 Women of Influence” and was selected as one of publication's “Top 50 Women in Business” in 2008.

In January 2010 she was named as the Garden State Foundation’s Woman of the Year, professional services category, and in May 2011 she was honored as a Woman of Distinction by the Boy Scouts for Northern New Jersey. Additionally, in 2008, The YWCA of Essex and West Hudson recognized Sally with their Woman of Distinction Award.

NJAWBO is dedicated to the success of New Jersey women business owners, according to the organization.

The NJAWBO's stated mission is "to address the challenges unique to women business owners and to provide the tools necessary for business success. We help them grow by providing the best learning and collaborative environment through all stages of business development."
 
Glick also serves on several local and national boards, including being a vice-president on the board of New Jersey's Association of Corporate Growth and a board member and Chair of the B2B Council for Commerce and Industry Association of New Jersey. She serves on the Morris County Chamber of Commerce Members’ Council is a founder and charter member of the Liberty Science Center’s Women of Leadership Counsel where she is currently serving as Chair. In July 2011 she assumed a two year term as President of Temple Beth Am in Parsippany.
 
Glick earned her undergraduate degree from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill., and her MBA from The Lake Forest Graduate School of Business Management in Lake Forest, Ill.
