County Business Partnership Networking Event Tuesday at USGA Museum

Those wishing to attend should call before 5 p.m. event.

For the second summer in a row, the Somerset County Business Partnership has scheduled one of its monthly networking events at the United States Golf Association Museum and Arnold Palmer Center for Golf History on Liberty Corner Road in the Far Hills section of Bernards Township.

Those wishing to attend the partnership's monthly "Opportunity Knocks" event at 5 p.m. on Tuesday should first call the SCBP office at 908-218-4300, ext. 13, said Diana Sieberg, vice-president of the SCBP.

The event, expected to attract about 100 people for refreshments, a tour of the golf museum and a chance to try an historic putting green, was nearly full by Monday afternoon, Sieberg said.

"Last summer’s "Opportunity Knocks" at the USGA was among the best attended of the year,” Sieberg said. "The evening combines a great opportunity to make new business contacts with a visit to one of the most interesting locations in New Jersey," she said.

The event is free for pre-registered Business Partnership members (up to two per company), $20 for member walk-ins and $30 for non-members. Sieberg said on Monday the SCBP would prefer attendees to call before arriving as a walk-in.

The event is scheduled for 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday at the museum at 77 Liberty Corner Road. "The evening will begin with more than 100 business people unwinding following a day at the office with an array of fine food in a unique and relaxed atmosphere that is conducive to meeting people and generating new and productive business relationships," according to information from the business partnership, which is a county-wide organization based in Bridgewater.

Sieberg said highlight of the evening for many would be a chance to remain afterwards to try the golf association's historic putting green, based on a green in Scotland.

Door prizes will be awarded including a grand prize of a set of Arnold Palmer Commemorative Coins and four complimentary passes to the Museum and Test Center, according to the SCBP.

All attendees will receive a gift certificate entitling them to a 15 percent discount in the USGA Museum Gift Shop, the SCBP said. Display tables are available for $60 and donations of door prizes are welcome, according to the SCBP.

To register, call the Business Partnership at 908-218-4300, ext. 13, or register online.

The Somerset County Business Partnership serves as central New Jersey’s regional Chamber of Commerce. Members and investors represent public, private and community organizations, working in partnership and dedicated to maintaining and promoting economic prosperity and quality of life in Somerset County, according to the organization.
