Dean's Natural Foods Hosting 'Restore the Shore'

Fundraiser combines with samples and sales at natural foods store, including one in Basking Ridge.

All three Dean's Natural Food Market stores, including the newest store at 25 Mountainview Blvd. in Basking Ridge, will be taking part in a two-day "Restore the Shore" event with the goal of raising $10,000 for the local Hometown Heroes' Sandy relief efforts.

"We will be donating a percentage of our weekend sales from all three stores [for] two days, three stores to Hometown Heroes, and 100 percent of that will go to helping local people affected by Sandy," says the store's information page on the event.

Dean's said it will be giving away Restore the Shore reusable bag, along with samples, sales and demonstrations, with an official "Restore the Shore" juice bar drink for the weekend.

Shoppers who spend more than $50 will get a raffle ticket to win a family pack of beach badges to the Jersey Shore, with which beaches to choose from to be determined closer to the season.

"We invite you to stop in, shop up and stock up, knowing that your participation will go towards helping the families in our own communities, our backyards, local people we all know who have lost their homes and have had to relocate, have been struggling trying to buy a new furnace and hot water heater, drywall, schoolbooks, you name it — all due to that fateful day when Superstorm Sandy made landfall and changed lives forever," Dean's said in the announcement.
