The Fresh Market to Begin Hiring Before Opening Later This Year

Bedminster specialty food store could open in December; career forum date changed to Oct. 23.

Update: The date for the career forum has been changed to Oct. 23, from the original date of Oct. 22, according to a spokesperson for The Fresh Market. All other details for the event remain the same. 

The Fresh Market at the Somerset Hills Shopping Center in Bedminster has scheduled a career day for Oct. 23 with the intention of hiring 80 to 90 employees before the new food store opens at the end of this year, possibly in December, in a space formerly occupied by the A&P.

The Career Open House will be held from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the DoubleTree Somerset Hotel and Conference Center in Somerset.

The Fresh Market is described as providing "a unique grocery shopping experience with stores that are designed to evoke old-world charm with a warm and inviting atmosphere, classical music, soft lighting, delightful aromas, and superior customer service." According to public relations firm representing the market, the Fresh Market will employ a "friendly, knowledgeable staff [who is] available to offer expert advice, product knowledge, cooking tips, and samples to customers throughout the store.

The career forum is scheduled to be held at the DoubleTree Somerset Hotel and Conference Center, 200 Atrium Drive in the Somerset section of Franklin Township.

The Fresh Market reprtedly needs approximately 80 to 90 employees staff our new specialty grocery store.

The Fresh Market will be hiring assistant grocery managers and specialists, bakers, meat cutters, and seafood specialists to staff their store, according to an agency representing the market.

Almost all of the new jobs will be filled locally at the upcoming Career Open House, according to The Fresh Market's announcement. "These jobs will be a wonderful career opportunity to the unemployed community or those needing a second job."
