VIDEO: Verizon Protesters Tour Morristown

More than 100 union workers were out in the sun and around the Green on Friday.

Tturned out that wasn't going to be the only protest Morristown saw last week.

Late Friday afternoon, over 100 people, clad mostly in red, walked Morristown's streets in protest against layoffs by Verizon, whose New Jersey offices are in Basking Ridge, South Brunswick and Brick Township. Still, if you want to make a statement, you can do worse than make it amidst the sun-dappled trees of the Green in Morristown.

Verizon wireline and back office workers, represented by two unions in New Jersey and elsewhere in Eastern states, have been working under the terms of a previous contract since that pact expired last August. and at other locations on multiple occasions since last summer.
