Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Hosts Free Community Health Fest Event Headlined by Martha Stewart

Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) hosted Health Fest 2014, a free community event to promote health and overall wellness in the community on June 30, 2014. The event which aimed at bringing the hospital’s New Brunswick and Somerville campuses and surrounding communities together following the recent merger Health Fest 2014 provided the community with an opportunity to meet and engage with their local medical staff as well as access to the latest health and fitness information and demonstrations..

Somerset, N.J. (July 15, 2014) Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital (RWJUH) hosted Health Fest 2014, a free community event to promote health and overall wellness in the community on June 30, 2014, from 4:30 PM to 8:30 PM at The Palace, located at 333 Davidson Avenue in Somerset, NJ. Emmy Award-winning television host, entrepreneur, best-selling author and health advocate, Martha Stewart, headlined the sold out event which was attended by 500 residents from Middlesex and Somerset counties. Aimed at bringing the hospital’s New Brunswick and Somerville campuses and surrounding communities together following the recent merger, Health Fest 2014 provided the community with an opportunity to meet and engage with their local medical staff as well as access to the latest health and fitness information and demonstrations.

During the event, Stewart shared her tips for staying well, both physically and mentally, into and beyond middle age and answered questions from journalist, Susan Bloom, and audience members. Participants enjoyed a sit-down dinner and received a copy of Stewart’s book, “Living the Good Long Life.” The event also provided attendees with complimentary health screenings, healthy cooking and fitness demonstrations, interactive health information tables, and physician panels. Through the event, Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital aims to encourage healthier lifestyles for all local residents.
