K-9 Unit Called After Bernards Home Burglarized

Residents are reminded again to lock their doors after an apparent burglary hit in which jewelry was reported stolen from a South Alward Home when the resident went out to walk a dog, and apparently did not lock the home's doors. Other towns also have reported home burglaries, and the K-9 unit was called in from Hillsborough in an attempt to track a suspect.

Case of Juveniles Accused of Krauszer's Break-Ins Referred to County Prosecutor

The case of three township juveniles accused of breaking into Krauszer's Food Store on three nights the previous week — and allegedly taking cigars, other tobacco-related products and some cash — has been referred to the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office.

VNA Holds Giant Fall Rummage Sale at Far Hills Fairgrounds This Weekend

It's the grandmother of all rummage sales — and after about 90 years, the Visiting Nurse Association of Somerset Hills' Rummage Sale, held each April and October, is still going strong. The sale runs this Friday, Saturday and Sunday at the Far Hills Fairgrounds, with thousands of items, some routine, some rather unusual.

Medway Gets More Jail Time, Fine After June's SWAT Standoff in Bernardsville

Bernardsville resident Samuel Medway, sentenced earlier this month to six years in state prison on a conviction of charges for selling an Uzi weapon to an undercover agent, has received additional jail time after a guilty plea in Bernardsville municipal court regarding last summer's SWAT standoff with authorities, the municipal prosecutor said. While living on Anderson Hill Road, Medway was reportedly served in June with papers regarding unpaid child support. called in a county SWAT team and evacuated residents living in the vicinity. He gave himself up quietly a few hours later, borough police said. He reportedly pled guilty to obstruction of justice in Bernardsville municipal court.

Bernardsville Gallery Opens New Location As Area's Art Scene Thrives

This Friday's regular ArtWalk in Bernardsville will be highlighted by the grand reopening of WallFlowers Gallery at 35 Mill Street. WallFlowers Gallery also was one of the stops this past weekend which promoted and displayed the work of 20 artists, photographers and artisans in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville.

Ridge Red Devils Still Unbeaten After Homecoming Game

Homecoming night was the best it could be for Ridge High School's Red Devils and their fans. On a night filled with many special guests, the Red Devils defeated the visiting opponents, the North Hunterdon Lions, 34-0. The Red Devils' season record now is 5-0.
