'Books for Kids' Donations' Period Extended at Bernards Library

'Books For Kids' holiday book drive for infants through teens can be dropped off at the library through the end of the week.

The children's library at the Bernards Township Library has extended the period for accepting donations for "Books for Kids" Holiday Book Drive through the end of this week, by Saturday, when they will be sent for distribution throughout the state.

Donations of new books for infants through teens are being accepted now in donation boxes both upstairs and downstairs at the library, located at 32 S. Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge.

The donated books will be distributed through "Books for Kids," a statewide program started in 1991 and sponsored by the New Jersey Library Association's
Children's Services section, according to the library.

"This program is undertaken with the hope that all children will be able to experience the joy of reading books of their very own," the library said in announcing the collection.

Donations will be distibuted throughout New Jersey to those who have limited access to books, according to the library's announcement.
