Calling All Artists for Charter Day Art Show

All Bernards Township residents can submit their work up until April 30.

Charter Day is drawing near, and in honor of the Bernards' 250th anniversary, this year's celebration will feature an expanded art show.

The Bernards Township Charter Day Student Art Show Committee is inviting all Bernards Township students to participate in the Charter Day Student Art Show. Residents can submit their artwork in any medium, celebrating a slice of life in our town, for exhibition at the Charter Day Student Art Show.  The art should focus on township special events, parks or historical places. The deadline is April 30.

"Our town has so many facets that enrich the lives of our residents.  We thought this year, during the 250th anniversary, it would be interesting to expand the art show to feature some of these aspects as seen through the youngest generation," said Jennifer Gander, Director, Bernards Township Parks and Recreation.

In the past, and this year also, art teachers in the township schools submit the best artwork from their students utilizing the various art techniques taught throughout the school year.  The new "slice of life" part of this year's art show is an addition to the show.

The art show will be displayed at Westminster Hall in the Basking Ridge Presbyterian Church on Charter Day, Saturday, May 15 from 11 am until 5 pm.  All are welcome to come and see the show.

As always, the competition is not judged – just a celebration of Bernards Township, students' talents and its 250th anniversary.  There is no entry fee.  Deadline for submission is Friday, April 30 at the Bernards Township Parks and Recreation Department, One Collyer Lane, Bernards Township.
