Daily Record: 21 American Flags Mysteriously Disappear From Route 287
Nick Sant Foster, self-described as the 'Flag Man' has been hanging flags on highway overpasses, only to have them vanish days later.
Rob Jennings of the Daily Record reported a bizarre story earlier this week of a Basking Ridge resident who has been battling unknown opponents while hanging American flags off of overpasses on Route 287.
Nick Sant Foster, self-described as the "Flag Man" said that he has seen 21 of his flags go missing after displaying them in 11 locations from Harding to Morristown.
"Foster said he had not filed a report with police because 'probably, technically, it's illegal for me to put the flags out' — a reference to state and federal guidelines prohibiting flags, poles or anything unrelated to the highway hanging from overpasses," Jennigs writes.
