Booze to be Cut At General Admission Gates for Far Hills Races

The party isn't exactly over, but general admission ticketholders will no longer be able to bring in decided race organizers and the Far Hills Council. It is possible that some alcohol may be available for the general admission gates within the property — but don't count on it. Otherwise, unless you're within a corporate or catered tent party, or tailgating on the top of the hill, forget it.

Bernards school officials were waiting to hear what the state aid for next year would be. When the answer arrived Thursday, the school district was able to put finishing touches on a proposed budget for 2013-14 to be introduced Monday.

Bernards and Far Hills Part Ways on Roads Agreement

Bernards Township and Far Hills officials officially ended a longstanding agreement this week in which the borough paid 15 percent of costs. Bernards said an continuation of the deal should apportion costs 50/50 even if Far Hills is much smaller since the roads are split down the middle. As of now, each town will plow or salt their own lane — but what to do about repaving still must be decided.

Ridge Traffic Task Force Plans Second Public Input Session Before Final Report

A special task force of township and school officials appointed to discuss options for relieving rush-hour traffic at Ridge High School plan another public input session during March at which the public can comment upon or ask questions about plans considered as the top options.

Ridge boys basketball (27-1) never take a win over Bridgewater for granted, but the Ridge Red Devils prevailed in Friday night's semi-final game for the state sectional title. Monday the team travels to Linden for the final championship game.
