There may be a little rain in forecast for a few days this next week, but this past week was perfect beach weather — and some of the driest hot weather during a dry, warm year. Brush fires were being reported in the township during July, and the N.J. Forest Fire Service cautioned that Somerset County is in the midst of "high" danger for fires in woods — or neighborhood brush.
