Heat Advisory Extended Until Sunday: Temperatures Still Dangerously High

The current heat advisory has been extended overnight. Temperatures tomorrow are predicted to fall just below weather alert status.

Hopes of a short heat wave have been pushed aside for now, with the current extreme weather warning extended again.

The National Weather Service's Heat Advisory for Saturday, July 24, originally scheduled to expire at 8 p.m. Saturday night has been extended for overnight, now due to expire at 6 a.m. on Sunday, July 25.

"A very warm, humid air will remain across the region tonight. Overnight lows will range in the mid to upper-70s, but when combining with the high humidity, the heat indices will only fall to the [lower to middle-80s]," the National Weather Service alert says.
