Long Hill Woman Found Safe After 3-Day Search

A Long Hill woman who had went missing after being at her parents' Basking Ridge home was found safe three days later. Carrie Ruffner, 34, was found by Long Hill police Sgt. Aaron Buerstetta at 3:49 p.m. near the intersection of Carlton Road and Whitebridge Road in Millington, only 3.4 miles from her home.

Four Basking Ridge Teens Injured in Car Crash

A full car of Ridge teens crashed on Valley Road in early May, leaving one with a serious head injury.

Swarm Of Bees Escapes From Truck In Bernards

On May 6, a truck carrying crates of bees from Florida and heading north had its cargo shift on Route 287. The driver pulled off the highway and ended up on North Maple Avenue in Basking Ridge — where some of the bees escaped. State beekeepers responded.

A massive search was underway Thursday for a woman who never made it home from her parents' Basking Ridge home a night earlier. But the good news went out Saturday evening that Carrie Ruffner had been found safe not far from her home.

A mother who said her 6-year-old daughter was subjected to an unprovoked and "vicious" attack by an aggressive raccoon in her Bernardsville backyard on Monday said she wants to warn the public about what happened. The raccoon had not been found as of late Friday.

Unconscious 63-Year-Old Revived After Route 202 Crash

A 63-year-old man was resuscitated on the scene of an early-morning Route 202 crash in Bernardsville early in May. Borough police said the New York State man was found without a pulse and not-breathing inside his smashed pickup truck, before officers adminstered CPR and used a cardiac defibrillator to revive him, according to Police Chief Kevin Valentine. The Bernardsville First Aid Squad then transported the man to Morristown Medical Center.

Accident with Ridge Teens Remains Under Investigation

A week after an accident that injured four Basking Ridge teens, the crash remained under investigation by but the most seriously injured teen was released from Morristown Medical Center.
