Two Raises Monday: Bernards Twp. School Administration Salaries
Two administrators received raises on Monday night.
The state Department of Education released salary figures for public schools late last week. The breakdown below is for the Bernards Township School District's administrative offices.
The chart includes last year's salaries for two administrators who settled employment agreements for 2011-12 with the Board of Education on Monday, June 20. Raises were granted to Regina Rudolph, assistant superintendent, and Nick Markarian, district business administrator.
Under the agreement, Rudolph's salary will increase from $177,915 to $181,473 for the coming school year. Her salary previously had been frozen at $166,900 in the 2009-10 school year, according to board figures.

Markarian's salary will increase from $153,750 to $156,825. The business administrator's position had paid $150,000 in 2009-10, Markarian said.
Board member Michael Byrne alone voted against the agreements, because he said the levels either are at or above the governor's desired cap of $175,000 on pay for school superintendents. He said both administrators had done an excellent job in their positions.
