Send a 'Message to the Future' with Bernards Bucks

The keepsakes are now on sale in Town Hall.

As the year-long celebration of Bernards' 250th anniversary continues to unfold, snapshots of life in 2010 are being collected to store for the 350th anniversary in a 100-year time capsule later this year.

The chance for local residents to contribute to the time capsule endeavor, and pick up a 250th keepsake in the process is underway. "Bernards Bucks," a set of faux-currency designed by Ridge High School art students are on currently on sale in the Bernards Township Municipal Building on 1 Collyer Lane.

For a $20 donation, residents can pick up a full set of seven Bernards Bucks, with an additional bonus buck thrown in, on which a "message to future" can be inscribed and placed in the 250th anniversary time capsule that will be planted on Nov. 13.
