Snow on the Horizon ... Again

Multiple weather services are predicting between snow on Thursday, with possible accumulations between 8-17 inches.

Keep a close eye on that thermometer over the next few days, because if it drops below 32, Bernards may be looking at another foot of snow or more by Friday.

Most forecasts predict rain intermixed with snow and ice over the next few days, with possible significant accumulations of snow on Thursday. Snow could begin falling Wednesday night, with an accumulation of 1-3 inches. Mixed snow and rain is expected to fall throughout Thursday morning, turning mostly to snow by the afternoon.

AccuWeather is currently predicting between 8-17 inches of snow accumulating from Wednesday night to Friday morning. Two to four inches could accumulate Thursday during the day, with another 4-8 inches falling throughout the night. Snow could continue falling on and off on Friday morning, adding one or two inches to the total. The current best guess prediction is for a total 12 inches over the three-day storm.

The National Weather Service advisory has issued a winter storm watch for Somerset County in effect late Wednesday night through Friday morning. The report warned of snow accumulation and strong winds.
