So, What Should We Talk About Next?

With some parents out of town, or off and running while schools are out, we take this opportunity to ask for suggestions for future topics.

We've had a lot to say here at the weekly Mom's Talk Q&A get-together, with contributions also coming from dads and grandparents.

Each Wednesday afternoon, at around lunchtime, we've been discussing , when it's time to and what local kids are managing to .

And more. So now, we're asking for some ideas of what we can talk about next.

And those of us without daughters may have enjoyed reading about the guidelines for what it's appropriate/acceptable for parents for girls to these days.

I'm especially asking for topics for parents of younger children. Believe it or not, one actually forgets many of the burning issues from those days (which seem so all encompassing at the time) when keep growing up.

And feel free to post your comments, even now, on suggestions for how to get that kid to

Some ideas that others already have suggested or are on "the list":

  • A guest commenter will talk about the best ways to talk with your children so they actually listen.
  • Where are the best places to meet other parents of young children? (Those involved with Moms & Tots _ I'd be asking you for suggestions.) What kind of activities are fun for young kids?
  • At what age should parents allow a cell phone? Texting?

Please comment with some ideas at the end of this column.
