Tagged Bear Drops In Again in Basking Ridge

A large black bear dropped by a property on Lee's Hill Road in Basking Ridge on Friday morning — and he may have been in the area before.

The bear was tagged on the ear, indicating he had caught before, said Kris Hintz, who submitted the photo.

Hintz said her husband had tried to get an iPad shot, but did not think he got anything. However, she said he then realized he had captured an image of the bear crossing the home's blacktop between garbage placed in the area, and some trees and foliage.

Black bear sightings have become relatively common in Basking Ridge in the past few years.
