Estimates for Mosque Worshippers Questioned

The neighbors in Liberty Corner Village and beyond continued to question a proposal before the Bernards Township Planning Board regarding a proposed 4,200-square-foot mosque that would be built in place of an existing house at 124 Church St. This month, there were questions about how many people would actually attend services. However, despite objections, houses of worship are a permitted use in residential zones.

A serious accident on I-78 in Bernards Township resulted in two young people being airlifted. Those involved in the one-car crash remained hospitalized a few days later.

Verizon Announces Tentative Union Contract Settlement

A federal mediator finally intervened after more than a year of failure by Verizon Communications and affected unions to settle a contract that expired in August 2011. Juveniles Questioned Regarding Krauszer's Break-Ins

Uzi Sale Gets Bernardsville Man 6 Years in Prison

A state Superior Court judge showed Samuel Medway of Bernardsville little sympathy regarding submitted information that no violence had occurred and he was seeking to pay child support through the sale of an Uzi gun to an undercover agent in 2011, a crime of which he was convicted earlier this summer. He was sentenced to six years in state prison, with credit for time already served.
