Somerset County Freeholder Patricia Walsh Re-Elected

Walsh's re-election means that Somerset County's freeholder board will stay all-Republican.

With 100 percent of the county's voting districts reporting, Somerset County Freeholder Patricia Walsh of Green Brook, a Republican, has been re-elected to another three-year term on the freeholder board that is governing body for Somerset County government.

Walsh's win over Democrat Kelona R. Miller, with Walsh receiving 61.36 percent of the vote from about 40 percent of the county's registered voters overall means that the Somerset County freeholder board will maintain its all-Republican status.

Walsh, who joined the board in 2008, received 48,805 votes, compared with Miller's 30,739 votes.

Walsh last year served as Freeholder Director, having previously served as deputy director of the county Board of Freeholders in 2011.

Before she was elected to county government, Walsh served various elected and appointed positions in Green Brook, including as mayor, deputy mayor, a member of the Township Committee, the Green Brook Planning Board and more.
