St. James Men of Charity will host its 5th annual Chili & Chowder Cook-off for Charity on Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, at 6 p.m. at the St James School Gymnasium. Proceeds will benefit local acts of kindness and service performed by the Men of Charity of St James Church. Homemade chilis and chowders will be made by individuals and local professions. Attendees will have a chance to taste many varieties of chili and chowder, and to vote on their favorites. Cricket Hill Breweries, Fairfield, will be on hand to serve microbrews for the event. Wine and soft drinks will be available, as well. A tricky tray is also planned. Donations and tickets are $35 in advance or $40 at the door the night of the event. Admission price includes all food and drink. The Men of Charity, a ministry group of the St. James Church in Basking Ridge, are dedicated to performing acts of kindness and service inside and outside the St James parish community.
Don’t’ miss out on this enjoyable night. For tickets, call the parish office, 908-766-0888; John Burns, 908-647-2632; or Paul Mattiola, 908-419-0850.
