GREAT SWAMP HIKE: GREAT SWAMP NATIONAL WILDLIFE REFUGE - OCT 5

Discover the flora and fauna of the Great Swamp
National Wildlife area during a naturalist-led walk on Saturday, Oct. 5, from 9
a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Great Swamp Walk, held annually by New Jersey
Conservation Foundation, is a celebration of the magnificent wetlands, woods,
and meadows. This leisurely-paced walk, through an area of the refuge not
regularly open to the public, will be led by naturalists Emile DeVito and
Blaine Rothauser.

The walk will cover relatively flat and occasionally
swampy terrain. It will be preceded by a reception and orientation at the
refuge’s Helen Fenske Visitor
Center. The event will be
held rain or shine, and walkers should wear waterproof footwear and bring
water.
