Fifth Annual Harvest Fest and NJ Microbrew Tasting Night

St. James Men of Charity will host their 5th annual Harvest Fest & NJ Microbrew Night on Saturday, November 2nd, at 6:00 PM at the St. James School Gymnasium.  Sample beer from NJ-based micro breweries including Cricket Hill Brewery, High Point Brewing (Ramstein Beers), Climax Brewery, Trap Rock Brewery, East Coast Brewing, Carton Brewing, and Flying Fish Brewery.  Home brewers will compete for the title “best home brewer” by popular vote.  Samples from New Jersey wineries will also be available.  A “Tricky Tray” raffle will be held during the event.

Admission is $40, which includes a commemorative tasting glass, German festival foods, wine, soda and a variety of microbrew beers featuring New Jersey craft brewers and home brewers.  On-site babysitting service, for children age 3 years and older, will be offered by the St. James Respect Life Committee for $20 per family. The Men of Charity are seeking home brewers to participate in the Home Brew Tasting contest.  Brewers will need to provide a “sixtel” of their brew (2.5 cases) for the event and be 21 or older.  Participating brewers will receive a ticket to the event. Proceeds will benefit works of charity both inside and outside the Parish Community performed by the Men of Charity.  

 The Men of Charity was formed in 2008 to engage in charitable service to the community at large. The members of the Men of Charity have been engaged in numerous donation and service activities including clothing drives, volunteering at soup kitchens, and coordinating home repairs.  Additionally, through their three annual fundraising events; The Harvest Fest and NJ Microbrew Night, Winter Chili & Chowder Cook-Off and 5K Run for Kindness efforts, the Men of Charity make donations to individual families and organizations in time of need.
