ARTsee Tour Continues Sunday

Free open studio tour displaying the work of 20 local artists scheduled for this Saturday and Sunday in Basking Ridge and Bernardsville.

The second annual ARTsee tour is back this weekend, with the public given free access to venues throughout Basking Ridge and Bernardsville that are displaying the work of 20 local artists. Download maps and/or look for signs around both towns with brochures of the included artists and their addresses.

The tour will is scheduled to run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine, on both Saturday and Sunday. Six of the artists will display their work at Bernards Township's at 450 King George Road in Basking Ridge.

Along with fine arts and photography, the displays will include painted instruments (by Caren Frost Olmsted at 18 S. Maple Ave. in Basking Ridge) to mixed media, Saori weaving, jewelry, paper sculpture and more.

The artwork is on display and for sale, according to the organizers. Not all the artists accept credit cards, so those who wish to buy should bring cash or checkbooks.

The public can download online maps to guide the open studio tour through the two towns.

"Be prepared for the unexpected, artists' studios are just as likely to be found in living spaces as they are above garages and in basements. Ask questions!" according to the event's organizers, who are Olmsted and artist Gail Mardfin of Bernardsville.
