Want to Volunteer This Thanksgiving? Here's How to Help
There are plenty of ways to lend a hand to someone who needs it this holiday season.
Do you have it your heart to give back this Thanksgiving? There are plenty of food pantries and soup kitchens that could use your help - not just on the holiday, but during the entire holiday season.
If you have it in mind to give your time to a worthy cause on Thursday, check out these sources for helping you put yourself to good use:
- The Community Food Bank of New Jersey is looking for volunteers to help serve Thanksgiving dinner and to help clean up. Contact them at their website, and a coordinator will be in touch with you.
- The United Way is looking for volunteers for the holidays, and year round. Fill out a form at their website and express your interest.
- If you don't mind a little drive, Elijah's Promise, a New Brunswick-based soup kitchen, is always in need of volunteers to help prep, serve, and clean up after meals. Go to their Volunteer Hub and you'll see what days and opportunities there are to help.
- The Salvation Army in Bound Brook is looking for help with their bell-ringing fundraising campaign. They could also use a Seasonal Organizational Assistant for help getting items to the needy through the holidays. Contact them at these links.
