Oak Street Elementary School Mural

Oak Street Elementary School recently completed the second phase of a mural project that began in 2010 in honor of its 70th anniversary. Depicting many of the town’s landmarks, the beautiful mural lines the Oak Street School hallway--and now the entire cafeteria--covering more than 300 linear feet of walls.

The new addition features familiar local scenes such as the popular sledding hill and Charter Day, as well as school events such as Roald Dahl Day and Colonial Day.

Organized by the PTO and spearheaded by local artist and school parent Caren Frost Olmsted, the mural involved all 600+ students who each got participate in the painting. It is an incredible undertaking and will part of the school and community for years to come.
