Zachary Connor Gehl, 2010 Ridge High Grad, Dies at 22

Ridge grad died in Far Hills on Nov. 6.

Editor's note: Zachary Connor Gehl, 22, a 2010 graduate of Ridge High School, died on Nov. 6, 2013 in Far Hills. The following obituary is reprinted with permission from the Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cemetery in Fort Meyers, Fla.

Zachary Connor Gehl, 22, passed away November 6, 2013 in Far Hills, New Jersey. He was born August 12, 1991.

Zachary is survived by his mother, Paula Wilkinson of Fort Myers, Florida; his father “POPS” Shawn M. Gehl of Far Hills, New Jersey; his loving sister and Best Friend, Shelby A. Gehl of Fort Myers, Florida; his grandparents, Dr. Norman and Ann Zeig of Fort Myers, Florida; aunts, uncles and many cousins and many, many friends both in the Fort Myers and Far Hills areas.

Zachary attended and graduated from Ridge High School in 2010, it was there that he developed many long lasting relationships with friends as well as teachers. Zachary will be remembered for his overwhelming ability to brighten the lives of those that had the pleasure of meeting and knowing him. His smile and genuine interest made everyone feel special and loved. He loved children and had an amazing knack for forming bonds like no other. He was fun loving and his zest for life was like no other, nothing deterred his desire to live life to its fullest. 

Services for Zachary will be announced soon. Arrangements are being handled by Fort Myers Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.

Zachary will be missed by all those who knew him. He is a bright star in the darkened night, OUR Star that will never dim.
