Obituary: Rebecca C. Larkin, 74, of Basking Ridge

Rebecca Catherine Larkin, 74, of Basking Ridge, New Jersey, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 28, 2014. 

Born September 29, 1939 in Washington Heights, NY, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary Brady. 

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Robert Larkin; three children, William Peter Larkin and wife, Jennifer of Bound Brook, NJ; Aileen Carr and husband, Greg of Basking Ridge, NJ; MaryBeth Dougherty and husband, Pat of North Wales, PA; a brother, Robert Brady and a sister, Helen Fitzpatrick; and seven grandchildren, Billy, Emily, Caroline, Nolan, Patrick, Mitchell, and Tricia. 


She loved her family and lived vicariously through their words. She also enjoyed her home, reading, crosswords going to dinner with her husband, a cocktail now and again, and cherished her long conversations (mostly one-sided because she did all the listening) with her kids. 

Relatives and friends are invited to visit the Gallaway and Crane Funeral Home 101 South Finley Ave, Basking Ridge, NJ on Thursday January 30 , 2014 from 5-7pm. A liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Friday, January 31, 2014 at 11am at the St. James Church in Basking Ridge followed by burial in the Holy Cross Cemetery in Basking Ridge, NJ.
