It's Our Third Friday the 13th for 2012—Are You Scared? [POLL]

Does looking at the calendar and seeing the date is Friday the 13th make you a scaredy cat?

This Friday already has started — a somewhat greyer day than we've had recently. But it's still a decent summer day, and at least many are on vacation.

Meanwhile, it's our third Friday the thirteenth of the year!

According to the Huffington Post, there are three Friday the 13ths on the calendar for 2012. The dates fell in January, April and now July.

So, does that bring on a slight shiver, or a shrug — or just a heave of relief with the thought that TGIF and you have a while summer weekend spread out and waiting?

We're also told that the number 13 has preoccupied people for centuries and psychiatrists even have a name -- triskaidekaphobia -- for the condition of intensely fearing the number 13.

When you travel, do you ever notice that many hotels don't have a room 13 or 13th floor? Would you stay in one if you could?

And what about those of us who may have a birthday that falls on the 13th? Once in a while, we get a little birthday wish from the universe. (Has anyone in our readership been born on Friday the 13th?)

Maybe some people feel thirteen is their lucky number!

As noted before in an any day can be a kind of strange day in these here parts. We have lots of odd spots in the cozy Somerset Hills, a surprising number of them noted in Weird New Jersey.

For example, Bernards Township's own which on Friday, April the 13th, was sprouting green leaves, but even so managed to look mildly menacing in silhouette against the late afternoon sky.

And did you know there was a Big Foot allegedly spotted in Bernardsville in the '70s?

Anyway, those who make it through the day without mishap can justify a toast at midnight, and a sigh of relief — at least until 2013, when we'll celebrate the year with two more 13th Fridays in September and December. (We'll just miss a super-13 celebration by one digit on 12/13/13.)
