Letter To The Editor: Truck Traffic And Dumping At Millington Quarry To Resume

Bernards Township is considering a resolution that would allow dumping to resume at the Millington Quarry on Stonehouse Road.

A ban on the importation of fill was passed in 2008 after fill samples tested positive for harmful contaminants. This resolution will allow fill to be delivered at the rate of 225 TRUCKLOADS PER DAY, 3000 trucks per month, Monday through Saturday between the hours of 7am and 5pm.

Bernards Township residents should be aware that a vote is taking place at the next Township Committee meeting on April 29, 2014, 8pm, Municipal Building, 1 Collyer Lane, Basking Ridge.  Public comments will be heard.
