Bedminster Man Allegedly Had Child Porn on Computer

The following is information obtained from the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office. It does not indicate a conviction.

A 38-year-old Bedminster man is accused of allegedly having files of child pornography on his computer, which authorities said were found after a search warrant was carried out Monday at his home on Bedminster's Cortland Lane, according to a news release from the Somerset County Prosecutor's office.

In a release issued on Wednesday, the prosecutor's office said that Tamer Sadek was lodged at the Somerset County Jail in lieu of $25,000 cash or bond bail set by Judge Allison F. Acuso.

Somerset County Prosecutor Geoffrey D. Soriano, in conjunction with Somerset County Chief of Detectives Stuart Buckman and county Sheriff Frank J. Provenzano, Sr., announced the arrest.

The release said that at approximately 12:30 p.m. on Monday, detectives from the Somerset County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force arrived at the suspected man's home to carry out a state Superior Court search warrant with the assistance of the Bedminster police department and the New Jersey State Parole Sex Offender Management Unit.

Soriano said that detectives assigned to the task force allegedly discovered files from Sadek's comuter containing children under the age of 16 engaged in prohibited sexual acts from between October 3, 2011 and January 11, 2012.

Later, at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Sadek surrendered to detectives at the Bedminster police headquarters, according to the prosecutor's news release. Sadek then was charged with endangering the welfare of a child, second degree and endangering the welfare of a child, fourth degree.
