Burglary at Fairview Drive East Home

Police say still working with homeowner to determine what was taken from home that may have been left unlocked.

Township police said officers responded at 1 a.m. on Monday to a report of a residential burglary at a home on Fairview Drive East, but investigators still are working with the homeowner to determine what likely was taken.

Police who arrived at the home said there were no signs of forced entry into the home, and it is possible that a door may have been left unlocked. The home was apparently entered some time during a long weekend.

According to police, the apparent thief or thieves apparently had been searching through all of the bedrooms. Police said it appeared as though jewelry was targed by the intruders.

The township Detective Bureau later showed up at the home to process the scene for forensic evidence, police said.

The homeowner told police that he discovered the burglary after returning home at 1 a.m. on Monday, police reported. However, the burglary is believed to have taken place sometime between 3 p.m. last Friday and at the time the homeowner returned on Monday, according to police.

The Detective Bureau continues to work with the homeowner to determine what was taken from the residence, and to set the value of the missing items, according to the police report.
