Car Snaps Pole in Early Thursday Mishap

No injuries reported, authorities say.

An early morning motor vehicle accident on Thursday on Valley Road in Bernards Township snapped a utility pole but resulted in no injuries, according to authorities.

Bernards Township Police Lt. Michael Voorhees said the accident involved one car, which received heavy front-end damage. However, he said there were no injuries in the mishap, reported at about 5 a.m.

The original report on this came in as happening on Arbor Circle, but police updated the information.

Along with police, he said the Liberty Corner First Aid Squad responded to the scene. He said no further details were available as of mid-day Thursday.

Liberty Corner Fire Chief Marc Friedman said the driver was out of the car when he arrived.

The pole was snapped, but did not fall on the car, the fire chief said. The car was resting against the pole, Friedman said.
