Worker Killed by Tree Limb at Nudist Club ID'd

said they have identified a 25-year-old Frenchtown man as the victim of an on-the-job accident killed Wednesday morning when he was struck by a falling tree limb at off Allen Road.

Police said Nicholas Rutikowski, 25, of Creek Road in Frenchtown, had been the victim of a fatal head injury reported to police Wednesday morning. Rutikowski was wearing all proper safety gear, and was employed at the time by nearby Tamke Tree Experts off Martinsville Road, according to the police report.

Police said they originally responded to Sky Farm, at 177 Allen Road, for a report of a head injury on Wednesday morning. Upon arrival, officers located a male who was hit by a falling tree limb while working with two other Tamke coworkers on the property, the police report said.

The victim, Rutikowski, apparently had been struck by a falling tree limb about four feet long and weighing an estimated 40 pounds, which fell from approximately 70 feet above, police said.

A Medevac helicopter initially was contacted to assist the victim, but that call was canceled after the man was pronounced dead at the scene, township police said on Thursday.

His identity was initially withheld while police contacted relatives, according to the police report.

According to MyCentralJersey.com, Tamke has issued a statement saying that witness accounts and interviews following the accident indicated all safety measures were followed. “He was part of the Tamke family and will be missed by all. Our heartfelt condolences go out to all his family and friends," the company was quoted as saying of Rutikowski.
