Liberty Corner Fire Company Hosts Extrication Drill

Five area fire companies met to practice using shared equipment.

On Saturday, March 20, the Liberty Corner Fire Company hosted an extrication exercise with its surrounding fire companies.  Participating in the drill were the Bernardsville Fire Department, Basking Ridge Fire Company, No. 1, the Peapack-Gladstone Fire Department, and the Far Hills-Bedminster Fire Department.

The object of the drill was for these neighboring departments to familiarize each other with the equipment available for mutual aid.  Each department then demonstrated an aspect of an extrication.  It was a tremendous learning experience for all involved and gave the members an opportunity to hone their skills.

Standing by at the drill was the Liberty Corner First Aid Squad. The cars used were donated by Somerset Hills Towing, which had personnel available throughout the drill, to maneuver the cars into position and to remove them at the end of the drill.
